NEW EPISODE! THIS IS DIVINE!

Go behind the sign to the night Divine died in a Hollywood hotel room. Harris Glenn Milstead, aka Divine, was the larger-than-life star of many of director John Waters’ movies. A female impersonator from Baltimore, Milstead went from touring the underground midnight circuit to starring in Water’s unforgettable and trashy films of the 1970s and 80s. Celebrated as the “Queen of Trash” during his lifetime, Divine was a bit of an unknown to wider audiences at the time of his death at the age of 42. This is Dead in Hollywood, and This is Divine! Let’s go behind the sign.

The Filth of Hollywood: John Waters, Diane Linkletter, and Divine (Stop no. 9)

Go behind the sign & on the boulevard to director John Waters' Hollywood Walk of Fame Star Ceremony, Diane Linkletter's apartment building where the 20 year-old committed suicide, and the now torn down hotel where Divine died. In September, I met up with Adam Papagan of Cool L.A. Tours at our office at Artisan’s Patio on Hollywood Blvd. We were hoping to interview some of John Waters’ filthiest fans at the director’s Star Ceremony. Waters was finally getting his due with a Star on the Walk of Fame. Please don't forget to like & subscribe!

DEAD IN HOLLYWOOD: THE CRASH OF ANNE HECHE (EPISODE 21)

Go behind the sign to the morning of August 5, 2022. Actress Anne Heche (“Six Days Seven Nights,”I Know What You Did Last Summer”) was involved in three car crashes. The final crash, the most serious, inflicted critical injuries on the actress and destroyed a home. Throughout her life, Anne Heche endured mental illcnessexual abuse, drug abuse, misogyny, and homophobia before her shocking death at the age of 53. Everyone was shocked by her death, but if you were paying attention, it wasn’t all that shocking. Sal Mineo: Hollywood's First Gay Teenager (Episode 3)

Forty-five years ago, on February 12, 1976, "Rebel Without a Cause" actor Sal Mineo was murdered outside his carport in West Hollywood, CA. Go behind the sign to the alleyway where the Switchblade Kid met his match. I hope you guys enjoy this video as much as I enjoyed making it. Like and Subscribe to my channel!

WORLD PREMIERE: HERE LIES RAMON NOVARRO (Episode 5)

Go behind the sign to Halloween Eve 1968. Two young hustlers ring the doorbell at 3110 Laurel Canyon Drive. A gracious 69-year-old man greets them. Once upon a time in Hollywoodland, the old man was one of the greatest Latin heartthrobs to have ever lived. Now frail and looking older than his age, the man invites the hustlers inside - "a burly young man of 22 and a slender twink of 17--his murderers." By morning, the old man would be dead, badly beaten, and having choked to death on his own blood. The bludgeoned body was that of actor Ramon Novarro.

Go behind the sign to Calvary Cemetery... in the search of Ramon Novarro's grave.

The Hottest Couple You Never Knew

They would’ve undoubtedly been the hottest couple back in the day if only they were able to come out. Tab Hunter and Anthony Perkins met in 1956, at the pool at the iconic Chateau Marmont on Sunset Blvd. -  John Belushi died of a drug overdose in Bungalow 3 at the hotel. The couple had a three-year romance that would’ve ended both of their rising careers if word got out. The pair kept their love a secret from even their closest friends. Hunter later recalled in the Jeffrey Schwarz’s documentary, "Tab Hunter Confidential,” that he would go out on “dates” with starlets like Debbie Reynolds, arranged by the studio and lapped up by movie magazines; sometimes, he and Perkins would double-date with women and then go home together. If you haven't checked out the documentary, "Tab Hunter Confidential," do so tonight in celebration of Hunter's life. Hunter died of a heart attack yesterday, June 8, at the age of 86. He is survived by his partner.
